Punctuating Grapevine’s recent dynamic growth, JPI, the North Texas leader in multifamily development, announced the start of construction on Jefferson Silverlake. Amazon Names Dallas a Finalist for HQ2
Amazon reviewed 238 proposals from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico to host HQ2, the company’s second headquarters in North America. Amazon announced 20 metropolitan areas to move on to to the next phase of the process, and nearby Dallas made the list.
In the coming months, Amazon will work with each of the candidate locations to dive deeper into their proposals, request additional information, and evaluate the feasibility of a future partnership that can accommodate the company’s hiring plans as well as benefit its employees and the local community. Amazon expects to make a decision this year.
Amazon HQ2 will be a complete headquarters for Amazon, not a satellite office. The company plans to invest more than $5 billion and grow this second headquarters to accommodate as many as 50,000 high-paying jobs. In addition to Amazon’s direct hiring and investment, construction and ongoing operation of Amazon HQ2 is expected to create tens of thousands of additional jobs and tens of billions of dollars in additional investment in the surrounding community.

The Praedium Group Acquires Terrawood, A Multifamily Community
The Praedium Group, a New York City-based real estate investment firm, has acquired Terrawood. Peter Calatozzo, managing director of The Praedium Group, announced the investment firm’s most recent acquisition.
Built in 2010, Terrawood consists of 291 units comprised of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 701 square feet to 1,455 square feet. Unit interiors feature expansive 10-foot ceilings, granite countertops, hand-scraped wood floors, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, side-by-side refrigerators with water and ice dispensers, kitchen islands with undermount sinks, 2-inch blinds, full-size Whirlpool washers and dryers, walk-in closets with wood shelving, oval soaking tubs, gourmet islands with pendant lighting, spacious balconies, and accent walls.
