Grapevine’s Commercial
Growth Spurs Luxury
Multifamily Development

Punctuating Grapevine’s recent dynamic growth, JPI, the North Texas leader in multifamily development, announced the start of construction on Jefferson Silverlake. The luxury multifamily development, a 371-apartment home community located at State Highway 26 and Bass Pro Drive, will be a stone’s throw from the new U.S. headquarters for Kubota Tractor and two high-profile transportation projects: The DFW Connector expansion of highway 114 and 121, and the future TEX Rail Grapevine Main Street station.

The apartment community’s location will offer an easy commute to both Dallas and Fort Worth, along with proximity to DFW airport. Additional amenities include: a true mixed-use development adjacent to luxury hotels and planned retail and office; a “backyard” including an enhanced trail system and natural area surrounding a 6-acre lake; concierge service; resort-style pool; wireless connection in all common areas; conditioned corridors with elevators; state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio; and 10-foot ceilings, modern cabinetry and designer appliance packages including full-sized washers and dryers in all homes.

Amazon Names Dallas
a Finalist for HQ2

Amazon reviewed 238 proposals from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico to host HQ2, the company’s second headquarters in North America. Amazon announced 20 metropolitan areas to move on to to the next phase of the process, and nearby Dallas made the list.

In the coming months, Amazon will work with each of the candidate locations to dive deeper into their proposals, request additional information, and evaluate the feasibility of a future partnership that can accommodate the company’s hiring plans as well as benefit its employees and the local community. Amazon expects to make a decision this year.

Amazon HQ2 will be a complete headquarters for Amazon, not a satellite office. The company plans to invest more than $5 billion and grow this second headquarters to accommodate as many as 50,000 high-paying jobs. In addition to Amazon’s direct hiring and investment, construction and ongoing operation of Amazon HQ2 is expected to create tens of thousands of additional jobs and tens of billions of dollars in additional investment in the surrounding community.

Other finalists were Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Indianapolis, Los Angeles; Miami; Montgomery County, Maryland; Nashville, Tennessee; Newark, New Jersey; New York City; Northern Virginia; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Raleigh, North Carolina; Toronto; and Washington, D.C.
